Call for Proposals now Open — The Story Conference 2016

StoryConferenceBanner_vsmall Yes – The Story Conference is running again in 2016!  Be sure to hold the dates too… (November 23–25th 2016). But, in the meantime, we have a conference program to organise, and a big part of that is the call for proposals to run 90 minute sessions that relate and contribute to the theme of “Influencing Cultural Change One Story at a Time”.  For more information including posting a submission to run a workshop click here.

Gary Friedman — Puppeteer Master — Breaking down Barriers, taking Risks and unleashing Creativity

I’m excited to share that we have a new presenter join us for Day 2 of the conference!

After an inspired career, encompassing studying with Muppet-master, Jim Henson, interviewing President Nelson Mandela and initiating the most successful Aids awareness campaign in Africa ‘Puppets Against Aids’ in the eighties and nineties, the Australian Government awarded Gary Friedman a ‘unique talent visa’ in 2002.

In Australia, he launched ‘Creativity Concept’ workshops, which he continues in SE Asia, Europe, Canada and the United States. In 2009, Friedman launched ‘Corporate Creatures’, together with a team of experienced corporate writer–entertainers, which won ‘Best New Product of the Year Award’ at the Australian Business Events Expo for communication within the business environment.

In this interactive presentation, Gary will take you on a journey to explore the power of puppetry. Whether it be in communities or the corporate world, this medium challenges inhibition and taboo; while establishing a safe environment for communication and awakening innovative potential.

Gary uses a mix of improvisation, humour, storytelling and some of the most unexpected media to portray important messages and bring about change.

Gary’s workshop will be held on Day 2 – Thursday 6th October 2011. For more watch his video below:
